Stupid, Stupid "Social Media"

Yet another great example of how stupid people are on "social media" are has come to light.   This comes to us courtesy of Mozilla, the people who make the great Firefox web browser.  Mozilla made a change to the logo, reflecting the parent brand logo.  Unfortunately, people who can't be bothered with checking things out for themselves went nutso over the "killing" of the fox.

So, Mozilla changed the logo in 2019.  That's right, the year 2019.  It took people on Twitter until February, 2021 to notice.  Then  one particular moron said "they killed the (potty-mouth term) fox",  It was retweeted over 77,000 times, and over 562,000 unthinking zombies "liked" it.   Apparently, not a one of these 600,000 mental midgets took the time and keystrokes to check it out for themselves.  Absolutely inexcusable!

Of course, the memes spread to instagram, then to reddit.  On February 26, Mozilla addr-essed this particular batch of nonsense on their blog, along with the current official Firefox logo:

So there you go.  We'd like to think that "social media" has some good points, but when the mob gets something into their collective psyche, no amount of truth can shake them from their collective hallucination.  And that's why you will never, and I mean never, see me on Facebook, instagram, twitter, or any of those gatherings of goofballs.

As the late, great Stan Lee used to say ~ "'nuff said."
