Yes, we had a blast of snow and cold that heralds the coming of winter. We just got our nice, new metal roof installed, so there is a bit more insulation up there than there used to be. Also, I do not plan on venturing up there ever again, since we also got leaf-resistant gutters put up also.
I do have to give kudos to our local postmaster. After several complaints from us, he actually came to the house to confirm what the situation is. It turns out that if your driveway is 1/4 mile long or longer, the post office cannot drive down to your house. If your driveway is shorter, they can walk down to deliver packages. Turns out we have a lazy mail carrier. She first claimed our driveway was too long, then claimed she could not deliver packages because of our dog. The dog who spends 95% of the time indoors, and is actually a six month old puppy, weighing maybe 20 pounds. The sort of dog who might lick you to death, but definitely not threatening. I stand by my observation that the post office really needs to rethink their personnel hiring standards. Nonetheless, the local postmaster finally did what was needed, so maybe things will settle down. With Christmas season coming, I am not taking any chances with the post office. I will have presents delivered to my work address, via UPS. That will bypass all problems.
L11 is still ticking away, like a finely tuned bomb. Seriously, SPOCS is still running along, keeping track of things around here. I am trying to finish up a WiFi camera project based on a Wemos Arduino clone board what has built in WiFi. I finally got a better pan and tilt rig that looks really promising.
