Do you remember that old saying?
The full saying is, "when you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas".
Breonna Taylor was a suspected drug runner. So was her past boyfriend, as well as her current boyfriend, whom she was living with. So, it should not have been a big surprise that the police came knocking at her boyfriends' door. In fact, it wasn't. He had a gun. The police had a so-called no-knock warrant. That type of warrant is issued when there is reason to believe that the folks inside the residence will destroy the evidence - in this case drugs - before answering the door. For some reason, however, the police DID knock. Did Taylor answer the door? NO! Did her boyfriend answer the door? NO! What the police received was gunfire from Taylors' boyfriend.
That's a nice, friendly, law-abiding, greeting.
Taylor got up out of her bed - this is one of the points the "protesters" continue to lie about - and was hiding in a hallway, when she was hit by a bullet, as police returned fire to Taylors' murderous boyfriend.
It is unfortunate that Taylor was killed. However, her choice of boyfriends was highly questionable, to say the least. That is where the old saying I was talking about comes into play. Even if Taylor herself hadn't been a suspected drug runner, the police would have (correctly) suspected her of being involved.
At the end of it all, Breonna Taylor was definitely no angel. She was not even innocent, in my opinion. I believe the Kentucky Grand Jury correctly found that there were no murder charges to be made, and that the polices' response could have, possibly, been more tempered. Although, I have to say, if you were knocking at a door, and were greeted by gunfire, you might be motivated to remove the threat as quickly as possible.
That's just what a logical, law-abiding person might say.
