After many months of democrats going on and on about "the great lie" (Hah! Tell us about lies, right CBS news? How about you, representative Cortez, the not-so-Bronx girl?) The party of the demented donkey gives us yet another off-kilter "solution" to today's problems.
That "solution" is a fellow named Mamdani. This fellow appears to be the liberals' openly socialist candidate for mayor of New York City.
According to his own website, "Zohran for NYC", he wants to freeze rent. Okay, but what does an honest landlord do when inflation hits? His platform makes it clear Mamdani is union friendly, like most democrats. So union-free contractors will get frozen out of his great vision for the city. He wants to build more "affordable" housing, using capitol funds raised by (again!) taxing the wealthy, and corporations, through higher taxes. He also wants to raise $70 billion through municipal bonds, over ten years.
A point that bears watching is that Mamdani wants to raise the city's public debt ceiling. All the while, liberals at the national level are yelling about our raising the national debt limit. A little inconsistent, maybe?
Mamdani claims he will create an "department of community safety" using "proven methods" that will "prevent violence before it starts". No details, of course.
He claims that president Trump has betrayed the working class. That is untrue, but expected from a democrat. I myself find it concerning that Mamdani has only been a US citizen since 2018.
The correctly attributed statement "I don't think we should have billionaires" paints him as a typical left wing hater of the wealthy.
Finally, he should, in no uncertain terms, condemn the slogan "globalize the intifada". If Mamdani is truly for the people, and truly against hate, he needs to condemn that slogan, and all it stands for.
That would go a long way to convince folks like me that he is actually against antisemitism, and not just angling for votes.
Mr. Musk has talked about starting a new political party. Great idea! See my previous post. Replace the aged, tottering democrat party with something better, without all the disgusting baggage the democrat party carries around. Go, Musk!
