If you needed any further proof that Idiocracy is here, here it is! The World health Organization (WHO) reports there are three big outbreaks of measles - about 2300 cases - exist in the Americas region, having grown ELEVEN TIMES the cases of 2024. Europe reports ten-fold increases of the disease. The European health folks note a dip in vaccination rates, except for Hungary, Romania, and Portugal, who report a 95%, or more, vaccination rate for both doses of the measles vaccine.
The WHO's exact words are:
"Difficulty in maintaining adequate levels of vaccination in the migrant population, vaccine-hesitant groups and other at-risk populations within the Region are big challenges."
The underlining is my own. The region being referred to is the Americas. So, the biggest challenges are getting migrants vaccinated, and getting anti-vaxxers taken care of.
A SMALL number of cases are people who have been vaccinated. How could this be? Well, any time a virus is exposed to a vaccine, and survives, it can mutate into something different, possible vaccine resistant. The answer? Get vaccinated, get your booster shots, stay up to date. NOTE that measles was declared eliminated in the USA in 2000.
So, I guess a thank-you is in order. Thank you, anti-vaxxers, for giving us a new measles outbreak in the USA. Now go get your shots, your idiotic stand has been noted, and disproved.
