It is time for us law-abiding right wingers to step up and define ourselves. We need to affirm a number of things to move forward, instead of remaining in somebody's shadow.
One thing would be, the Second Amendment is as meaningful as it ever was, and has withstood at least two challenges in the Supreme Court. We should defend it.
Another thing, as much as we dislike Alec Baldwin's portrayal of former President Trump, we cannot support the President's son selling T-shirts blaming Baldwin for a tragic accident that killed one, and injured another. As responsible citizens, we must disassociate ourselves from this sort of nonsense. I will probably never agree with Baldwin on politics, but below-the-belt blows like that T-shirt are not acceptable. Just because "they" have no morals doesn't mean WE do not.
It is time for the Republican party to move out of President Trump's shadow. His time has passed. It is time to forge our direction forward. We need to affirm we do not support huge government. We do not support ridiculous pork programs labeled "infrastructure". The Democrats have been yelling about our infrastructure "falling apart" for decades. Like "tax the rich", the Democrats need a new playbook. We need to help, not hurt, the people. Every one of us who has health insurance through an employer pays a lot more than we used to, thanks to the idiotic acts of President Obama and his "Affordable Care Act".
Police need to be supported. Firefighters need to be supported. We need to stand and say, in a firm, loud voice, that dismantling police departments will only encourage crime. Are people really that stupid? The complete facts of any police-involved incident must be considered. It does not matter if a man is black or white, if he is fighting the police, he is a lawbreaker, and needs to be treated as such.
COVID mask mandates, as well as vaccine mandates, need to be put in place, and enforced. COVID is a disease. Like any other disease, we need to vaccinate people to eradicate it. It is the same as the fights we fought against polio, mumps, smallpox, and many others. Stupid people who try to make getting vaccinated into a political issue are preventing the medical people from nailing down this pandemic. That is wrong, and needs to stop.
We need to expose the complete fallacy of President Biden's "build back better", and stop it before he wastes more of our taxpayer money.
Speaking of wastes of taxpayer money, Pelosi's so-called January 6 commission needs to be shut down. It is accomplishing NOTHING. The FBI has been on the case since January 6 (unlike the "commission"), and has arrested people involved. JUSTICE is being done, not Pelosi's pretend justice.
We need to return to basic, true values. The values that have seen America through for more than 200 years. If we fail to do that, America will not last another 200 years.
