2014 has come and gone. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Or, as Star Trek's Mr Spock said in one picture I saw a while back, "May you experience a most pleasant celebration of your planet's winter solstice...and a most logical New Year."
The year was full of ups and downs, here is SPOCS-land. It ended on a "down" note, with the sudden passing of a family member on December 29. My friends and co-workers have been very supportive, and I want to thank them all for that.
The new year will bring changes, some good, some perhaps not so good. Overall, it will be good, mostly because I wish it to be. I would much rather be happy than sad, content rather than envious. Some people worry too much about what they do not have. They concentrate too much on the negative, instead of the positive. "Count your blessings!" Truer words were never spoken.
Congratulations to Canadian icon Gordon Lightfoot, who recently got married to his longtime girlfriend. may they have many happy years together.
