It's true. Last week, I was investigating a new SPOCS console, when I noticed the tabletop over L10's power supply was hot - really hot! The power supply itself was almost too hot to touch. Fortunately, we had a spare, so it was a simple matter to shutdown L10, swap the supply (ignoring the smell of burnt electronics), and get L10 going again. All is well now.
I'm looking at possibly using GTK+ for the next SPOCS console. It seems to require a bit of setup at the install end, but at least, we'd have a private GUI that is not tied to somebodys' development system.
