Things can be difficult...

Oy.  Difficult, indeed.  That's why you haven't heard much from me the last couple of weeks.  Poor SPARCL10 suffered not one, but two failures during testing.  First its hard drive took a hit.  At first we thought the mainboard got nailed, but after installing a new drive, and installing Fedora 15 (again!), it came right up.
Then we started noticing this awful smell.  Anyone who has worked on electronics knows the smell...the smell of roasting electronic components!  Turns out the fan on L10's video card froze up.  The smell was the video card electronics slowly baking as the card heated up.
So now, with a newer hard drive, and a new video card, SPARCL10 is back in testing.  I have to update the SPOCS setup manual, to account for the differences, going from Fedora 8 to Fedora 15.  For instance, Fedora 15 does not require 1 GB of memory to run, but it DOES require a gigabyte of RAM to install!
We haven't tried firing SPOCS up on L10 yet, but that's coming.
